Review in a nutshell: GIANT ROBOTS FIGHT GIANT MONSTERS!

Seriously, that was all we wanted, that’s what we got. This movie has flaws but every time a Jaeger (giant robot) punches a Kaiju (giant monster) in the face I forgot what they were.

And yes, this is my absolute favorite movie maker, Guillermo del Toro. But no, that’s not why I’m giving this movie a pass despite having minimal plot and mediocre acting.

It’s getting a pass because I was promised awesome fight scenes of powered armor versus dinosaurs and I got them dammit.

Where I found it: The Big Screen. I fear this movie may not translate well to a TV unless your TV is gigantic.

How much I paid for it: 10 bucks! It was $5 movie day and my husband and I actually agreed on a movie.

Points of interest: Mr. del Toro dedicated this movie to Ishirō Honda (the director of the original Godzilla movie) and Ray Harryhausen (the father of stop motion animation). Honda passed away in 1993. Harryhausen passed away in May 2013.

The Money Shot: I actually don’t want to spoil it, but Voltron fans will be quite pleased.

My Favorite Line: Where’s my damn shoe?!
