Red Lights

Starring: Cillian Murphy, Sigourney Weaver, Robert Deniro and Elizabeth Olsen

Review in a nutshell: I’m settling on a 2 out of 5. The acting was meh, the script was all over the place and the directing was childishly simple. This guy took Skeleton Key and squished it together with the Sixth Sense. From what I can see he used all the same directing tricks as M. Night Shamalamadingdong, so I spotted many of them the 1st time through. I’ll give him credit for going somewhere I didn’t expect, but he could have done a better job getting there. I will NOT give them any credit for the “countless hours of research” done, because they seemed to be working off a syllabus from the critical thinking class I took in college.

Where I found it: Xbox Video

How much I paid for it: 480 points / 113 minutes of my life

Points of interest: Skip this movie and read up on the epic battle between Uri Geller (spoon bender) and James Randi (professional magician and king of skeptics). You’ll thank me.

The Money Shot: There really wasn’t one. I think they wanted the ending to be awe inspiring but it fell flat.
